Junior Communications Specialist (CECOM)

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

The Jr. Communications Specialist (JCS) will support CECOM C51SR at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) and be responsible for producing high-quality information products appropriate for the intended audience through research and the creation of information.
The Jr. Communications Specialist shall also perform a thorough review and editing of original work and work of others to include emails, documentation, announcements, messages, flyers, brochures, and programs. The Jr. Communications Specialists shall organize and complete correspondence IAW Army Regulation 25-50 standards and AP Style Guide, demonstrating clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; be capable of producing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and other formats to brief organizational senior leadership.

The responsibilities of this position include:
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or the CECOM and APG Garrison personnel.
• Confer with senior leaders, customer, and publishers to create written information products and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
• Write and review published materials and recommend revisions, or changes in scope, format, content and
methods of reproduction and binding.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (English, Communications, Journalism; liberal studies degree with a
concentration in writing or marketing); additional years of work experience can be substituted
