This position is representative of positions within ATI that may become available in various languages, levels and locations. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at ATI.
Language proficiency scores, years of experience, and education level will determine specific labor category.
Job Description:
Demonstrated proficient skill set in performing tasks, required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT operations, will enable you to perform the following:
- Recover essential elements of information
- Render translations and/or transcripts that are complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken material
- Gist straightforward, factual written and/or spoken material
Labor category will vary depending on years of experience, education level, and language proficiency test scores.
Applicable experience includes:

- Relevant military MOSs: 35P, 1N3X1, 1A8X1, CTI, 267X or equivalent
- Drafting SIGINT reports
- Compiling and updating operational working aids and databases
- Gisting of straightforward, factual written and/or spoken material
- Rendering translations and/or transcripts based on straightforward, factual written and/or spoken material
- Recovering essential elements of information
- Scanning, sorting, and/or categorizing foreign language materials
- Native and non-native speakers with an active TS/SCI with poly clearance and directly-applicable skills may be considered. Candidates with direct customer experience are preferred.
Additional information:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly
- Minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Language test scores taken within the last two (2) years equivalent to the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Level 2 or higher
- Minimum of two (2) years full-time experience performing cryptologic language processing in the required language OR be a native speaker with translation experience.
- Applicable language processing experience is defined as:
- Oral interpretation from target language to English and vice versa
- Audio or text translation/transcription of language materials
- Quality control reviews of translations, transcriptions, or reports
- Mentoring language analysts in language processing
- Formal instruction of required language in platform and/or distance learning environments
